Suffering From Pain When Lifting?
- Do You Find That You Can’t Lift as Much Weight or as Hard as You’d Want Because of Persistent Aches and Pains?
- Have You Been Avoiding Certain Lifts Because They Hurt?
- You Want Help, but You’re Afraid Your Doctor Will Tell You to Stop Lifting, Right?
You’ve found the perfect location if you said “yes” to any of the following.
- The doctor uses X-rays and injections.
- Standard physical therapy involves banded exercises and stretches...
- While massages may provide temporary relief from pain, the discomfort almost always returns.
- No time off is an option, and the moment you pick up the weights again, the pain returns.
In Reality...
- You won't see any improvement by resting it. You could feel better for a little while, but the discomfort will return as you start moving about again (I guarantee you've experienced this before!).
- Unfortunately, injections just mask the symptoms and do nothing to address the underlying problem.
- The tissue adaptations you need to return to lifting at your optimum capacity can't be prompted by banded workouts.
- Your only other choice is to subsist on ibuprofen and other painkillers.
Our Mission at Onyx Physical Therapy & Wellness Is to Assist Active Adults and Athletes in Returning to the Workouts and Sports They Love Without Undergoing Surgery, Giving up the Things They Like Most, or Resorting to Pain Medication.
- Someone in your family recommends that you give a specific stretch a shot.
- A coworker of mine has recommended that I check out a massage therapist.
- YouTube's purported fitness experts all agree on one move you should be making a point to incorporate into your routine.
- A pal recommends trying out a yoga class.
- While the doctor orders you to take it easy
In the face of so many options, making a choice might feel like an insurmountable task. If you don’t pick the best option, what will happen?
The inability to decide what to do next is a common problem that prevents most individuals from moving forward. They sit on the issue for days, weeks, months, or even years.
Why Do We Work With Lifters and Barbell Competitors?
All of our therapists have a lifting experience and bachelor’s degrees in exercise science. Some were collegiate athletes, while others began lifting after their careers in team sports ended. Our therapists understand the importance of resistance exercise in your life. They take pleasure in bridging the gap between physical treatment and strength and conditioning.
Whether you are a CrossFit athlete experiencing shoulder discomfort, a powerlifter experiencing low back pain, or a casual gym rat experiencing hip or knee pain, our therapists will work with you to develop a strategy to get you back in the gym lifting without pain or limitation.
Our Process
PHASE 1: TELL US ABOUT YOUR HISTORY
This is your chance to let us know what’s going on. Our staff will investigate your injury history and workout program.
We want to know when your injury happened, how it has affected your life, and what your future therapy and lifting objectives are.
PHASE 2: OBTAIN CLARITY
Our experts will assist you in understanding what is going on, the why (root cause) of your injury, and how to incorporate therapy into your routine while keeping you in the gym.
They will explain various loading concepts in order to target certain tissues that may be implicated in your injury.
PHASE 3: RELIEVE YOUR PAIN AND STRENGTHEN YOUR RESILIENCE
Together, you and your therapist will devise a strategy for healing while preserving strength and strengthening the resilience of your muscles, tendons, and joints.
They will show you how to include certain exercises into your warm-up and training routine to avoid similar concerns in the future.
At Onyx Physical Therapy & Wellness, We’ve Developed a Three-Step Procedure to Get Rid of Your Pain and Keep It From Returning.
STEP 1 - WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR STORY
Our healthcare system is infuriating. You wait weeks, if not months, for an appointment, just to speak with the physicians for 10 minutes before they have to rush to the next patient, leaving you wondering, “What just happened?”
This is how most physical therapy clinics function. They’re not attentive, they’re quick, and your therapist doesn’t have time to touch where you ache.
This is why we begin by listening to your story.
We know that no two persons with Lifting pain are alike after working with a large number of them. Each person has a unique body, a unique past, and a unique sort of pain.
That is why, as a first step, we will hold an open chat and allow you to express your tale. That way, we can gain a thorough grasp of not just what’s going on with your body, but also how it’s affecting your life.
STEP 2 - DETERMINE WHY THE LIFTING PAIN STARTED
Many folks have a medical word or diagnostic for what’s wrong with their body. Maybe it was given to them by their doctor, maybe testing revealed the condition, or maybe you discovered it online.
You may have been advised that your only options were to rest, take pain relievers, or consider surgery.
These items may provide temporary relief, but they do not address the root cause of the problem.
Each person’s source of lifting discomfort is unique. Nobody has the same difficulty caused by the same item as someone else.
Our objective at Onyx Physical Therapy & Wellness is to identify the source of your discomfort so that it not only goes away, but stays away!
During your initial examination, you’ll learn what’s wrong, how long it will take to remedy it, and get piece of mind knowing your condition can be solved organically!
STEP #3 - GET RID OF THE PAIN AND KEEP IT FROM RETURNING
This is when the major metamorphosis takes place. We provide a customized strategy that allows you to…
…Resume lifting without worry of resuming discomfort.
…Set new personal records.
…Learn new techniques for better form and strength.
Our top clients are individuals who are determined to reclaim their active lifestyle. (Even if they are currently stuck!)
